A special moment I enjoyed with my family. | 9:55 PM

Last Saturday, my family went to East Coast Park.

Usually, whether weekdays or weekends, my family stays indoors other than going out for lunch. Sometimes, we go to places such as Tampines Mall as well. Thus, when my mother told me that she decided to bring me and my siblings out to East Coast Park, I was brimming with excitement. It had been quite a long time since we went to East Coast Park, a few months in fact.

It all began in the morning. My mother woke me up at the early hour of 8.30 and told me to pack my things for some cycling. I then went and took a shower at an unusually high speed, then quickly and happily packed some things I thought I would need into my Crumpler sling-bag. Watch, cap, water, and a pair of shades. I was ready to go! I joyfully put on my socks, then my track shoes. It was exactly 9.15 when we left the house.

We took a bus to East Coast park. The journey took roughly 15minutes, not including the 5minutes we spent waiting. Upon alighting from the bus, I gleefully ran to the bicycle rental kiosk, with my siblings and mother following right behind.

We decided to rent one bike for each of ourselves. As I am physically rather small, I had limited options to choose with. in the end, out of a red and white bike and a yellow bike, I decided to pick the red and white one because it looked nicer. After making our deposit, we were ready to go!
Slinging my bag over my shoulder and then plugging in my earphones into my iPod, I was off!
It was a great experienced that i relished. The wind in my face, I felt so free and fast as I pedalled hard as I could.

We cycled for about an hour, then returned the bikes and paid a total of 30 dollars. However, it was definitely money well-spent, as we all had fun together.

Something that took place in school. | 5:24 AM

Today, something very unfortunate, unexpected and unusual happened in school today. I was not involved in the incident in anyway, the person who was is my classmate, who I shall not name as it might get someone into trouble.

Anyway, today is Friday, which is my most enjoyed day of the school week as it has the shortest timetable, with school ending at 1.05pm instead of 4pm as on Monday and Thursday.

At 9pm, the English lesson started. It lasted for 2 periods, 1 hour and 10 minutes. I usually enjoy English lessons as just this month alone our class has been to the Computer Lab twice, and because my English is pretty good and lessons are usually not boring. Today, Miss Tan, my English teacher, taught my class about doing Summary. After she explained Summary to us, she told us to do the Summary question that was on a worksheet that had everything else completed. As strong as I am in English, I began running into problems, there were several words that I could not find synonyms for.

However, I eventually got them right, and continued doing the Summary at a high speed, as Recess was coming and I was excited.

All of a sudden, a melodious little jingle broke out from behind me. What is that, I thought to myself. It sounded like... a ringtone! I turned around and knew that the sound originated from somewhere near my classmate. Clearly, majority of the rest of the class agreed with my sentiments as they made a commotion, with "wooh"s and "ahh"s going around the class. My classmate frantically fished his hand phone out of his pocket, and quickly mashed a button and the ringing stopped. He had a terrified and anxious expression plastered onto his now beetroot red face.

I was shocked by what had happened. Miss Tan then hushed the class, as she walked over to my classmate amongst calls of "Confiscate it" and "Punish him". He looked very guilty. Miss Tan said something to him, then took his phone away, as he started crying slightly as paranoia and fear took over.

Having your hand phone turned on during class is prohibited by the school. Not only did my classmate keep his hand phone on, he did not even make sure that the phone would not ring loudly. And therefore, i personally feel it is his own fault. He claimed to me that someone had deliberately called him in an attempt to sabotage him, and that was 3 minutes after claiming it was a telemarketer. It seemed to me like an attempt to find an excuse.

The aim of this post has nothing to do with my classmate at all, and I apologise if he is upset by this post but I have not posted this to try to make him upset, I am simply recounting the incident and sharing my own opinion.

Something unusual that happened. | 7:28 AM

Today, school was supposed to end early, at 1.40pm, but Madam Ernie held us back until roughly 1.55pm. I stayed in school for roughly 20minutes afterwards, then went to take my usual bus 43 home.

Alighting after a brief 10-minute journey back home, I once again, as usual, had to walk an approximate 700m path home. Trudging along the concrete and seemingly never-ending path, I came across a little kitten. It has big green eyes, grey fur and it was a very small kitten. I found it very cute. For some inexplicable reason, I crouched down and stroked it's surprisingly soft fur. Weirdly enough, I even mimicked the cry of a kitten! It would have been incredibly embarrassing if someone else was to have seen it, but luckily my surroundings were empty.

Strangely enough, as I slowly stood back up the cat seemed to beckon to me as it slowly crawled away. Still entranced by the feline, I followed it. It went all the way to the void deck of the HDB Block in which I live in, and it lead me to a small container filled with some small little red balls that looked to me like cat food. It turns out, there was a kind animal-lover who had provided many cats around the vicinity with free food. I feel that such an act is very noble, and the person is very kind-hearted.

Despite the kind and under-appreciated efforts of kind samaritans like this animal-lover, there remains a unfortunately large amount of people who continue to treat animals badly and in some cases abusing them. I really hope all of those horrible actions will stop as an animal-lover myself, and that the people can repent for their own good and the good of animals worldwide.

A moment spent alone doing something I enjoyed... | 5:40 AM

Today, school ended at 4pm. Feeling very tired and sleepy, I dragged my body home. The only thing on my mind was to relax, sleep, play something, get a rest, you get the point. I reached home at 4.30pm, and to my surprise my mother and siblings were not home, the only person that was at home was my grandmother. So, I gave my mother a call, and it turned out that she had went to the Popular Bookstore at Paya Lebar to purchase a Handbook for my Chinese classes. She had forgotten to do so last week, so she went to get it yesterday. Putting my rock-like heavy bag down, I then lazily went into the shower to get myself refreshed.

Ah, the shower did wonders. Within 10minutes, I walked out of the shower, feeling much more refreshed with every hint of fatigue fully extinguished. And now, it was time to do one of the most dreaded things common to me: Homework. Sighing, I went to my bag and fished out my Journal to check what the homework was. My slightly disgruntled face slowly lit up to a massive grin, as I found that there was no homework given to me! A celebration erupted inside me, as I was happy to know that I could play the rest of the day away! So, I went and sat infront of my television and my PlayStation 3 console. I started it up excitedly and started playing Call of Duty: Black Ops, my favourite game. It is a shooting game from a first-person perspective. I had alot of fun playing it. It is one of my favourite things to do when I am free, and I really enjoyed my time playing the game. From 5.45, I played until 7pm, when my mother had finally come home. When there is free time for me in the future I wish to play my PS3 more, especially when I am not in the best mood as it can really lift my spirits.

A problem solved. | 10:47 PM

Today is Sunday. Having spent yesterday lazing around and unfortunately accomplishing NOTHING, I had to start and finish my homework today. So, I set an alarm the previous night, for me to wake up at 8.47 to do my homework.

However, things didn't really go to plan. My alarm rang and being grumpy and still very much drowsy, i hit the "Snooze" button. 5 times. And then I turned it off. And in the end, I woke up at 10.24. Ah well, I thought, better late than never. I then decided to start on my homework immediately.

Usually my homework would be recorded into the school handbook, which is pretty much it's main use for me. However, for some weird and unknown reason, stocks from the school bookshop for the handbook were zilch. I have to wait till February before I can go and collect my handbook. Thus, I decided to record my homework for the week on a piece of fullscap paper as a stand-in. After searching through my file for the second time, I realised that I had lost it. Therefore, all I had to depend on was my memory. Despite recalling that I had English homework, I knew there were other homework, yet I could not remember what they were.

I then decided to get help from classmates, and the easiest way to communicate with them would probably be through Facebook's chat system. I then logged onto my Facebook, and luckily 3 of my classmates were online. I then asked all 3 of them about our homework. Ah, it turned out we had Geography, Bahasa Indonesia and Mathematics homework too.

Just within ten minutes, I managed to solve this problem, and it was with the help of technology. Technology is now a imminent part of the society and it is a useful tool for me.

My thoughts on blogging. | 7:32 PM

Blogging is an activity that is widely popular, around the entire world.
With millions of people with things to say, thoughts to share and messages to send out, blogging has turned into one of the most popular platforms for communications worldwide.

I myself have had experience with blogging in the past, having had been a blogger since the age of roughly 11. However, due to the fact that I was and am still quite young, I commonly find myself not knowing what to say. Therefore, my blogs would oftenly end in failure due to my laziness to blog and lack of talking points. I've had a total of 4 blogs that had "died" after I didn't post in the for a few months.
The reason i picked up blogging was because my sister and a few friends of mine had owned one, and it seemed pretty interesting to me, the idea and purpose of a blog. Being curious, I set my first one up. As I was still young, I was not very computer-savvy yet at that time, therefore my blog was somewhat poor compared to many others. No custom blogskin, no chatbox, no music, no nothing. Thus, response was lackluster and I gradually lost interest in my blog.

Blogging is still a popular activity,
and it is probably undisputed that the most common bloggers are teens. With much to share and teen angst building up, blogs usually result in being their punching bag, where they can say what they want to. They could also lock their blogs and limit the people who enter their blog.

As long as people do not reveal too much personal information about themselves, I believe that blogs are a good way for people to share views and thoughts. I commonly view blogs as I am a curious person and I like to view several different thoughts about the same thing.
